To create a national community of equity-driven STEM teachers that advance social justice in education

Values and Beliefs

We want equity and social justice to be at the core of everything we do as demonstrated in our mission statement. We believe that educators have an obligation to not only teach but also address and actively work to dismantle the inequities in our schools. In addition to supporting the professional development of pre-service teachers enrolled in UTeach programs, we also aim to create spaces where students can have meaningful conversations about critical issues impacting our classrooms and country. Our goal is for USLA to feel like a grassroots coalition with an emphasis on community building and empowerment.
